A Hidden Side

a hidden side is an artist’s book in the form of a video collage.

This piece is a book of the film and a film of the book, presented in video as a poem written all over Marcel Broodthaers’ Un Voyage en Mer du Nord, which is no longer a voyage.

Broodthaers’ film becomes infected by a poem in a hidden side, speaking across spaces, bodies and books. The pages of a hidden side are filled with cells dividing, with borders that flex in its gutters, with bodies that transgress its bindings, and with structures that collapse in the margins.
